Grinding Stone Collective Inc. is a grassroots 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to revitalizing traditional foodways and ecological knowledge through community-driven education, mutual aid, and land stewardship programs. Their work strengthens Indigenous Food Sovereignty by reconnecting urban and rural Native people to ancestral food systems, land-based practices, and one another.
As videographer and editor, I independently filmed ecosystem land assessments, elder teach-ins, oyster farming, cooking demonstrations with James Beard Award–winning Chef Sherry Pocknett (Mashpee Wampanoag), a bison harvest, and more. I conducted on-location interviews with Indigenous knowledge holders, balancing technical production with care-centered practices to safeguard cultural heritage.
